Grounding Tips
Grounding rituals are extremely important in order to keep our energy steady. These days, most of us are so busy with our daily routines, that grounding seems to be the last thing on our minds. Given these circumstances, it’s very difficult to maintain a healthy attitude and balance in life on a consistent basis.
In this article I will give examples of how to ground your energy. All you need to do is to allow about 10-20 minutes each day.
Deep Conditioning
When you first start a grounding regimen, you may notice that you’re not connecting right away, especially when attempting a meditation session and creative visualization. Getting to that “happy place” will take a few tries. Fear not, for practice makes perfect. Here are some suggestions:
Meditation
In both positions, my arms are either to my side or stretched out as if I were spreading my wings. I choose to not cross my legs as I feel it’s confining, however, if that’s what you’d like to do, that will work. Also, I prefer to have New Age or simple instrumental music playing in the background.
1. Prep: Take a bath or shower for about 10-15 minutes.
2. Get into your comfortable position.
3. Close your eyes and clear your mind of chatter.
4. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth until your body is completely relaxed.
5. Stay in that relaxed state for as long as you can.
On the first few tries, you may fall asleep so make sure that you choose a time in which this will not affect your daily schedule. If you need to, set an alarm. After enough practice, you will notice that you will attract random visuals and your body will naturally “wake up” when finished.
I also believe that a form of meditation can be any fun, creative activity such as painting, journaling, graphic design and reading fictional books.
Removing Blocks
It’s best to not assume that people are out to get you or know what they‘re doing, however, someone else’s actions can affect your energy and you may not even realize it. Energy is neither created, nor destroyed. It’s just passed from person to person, much like the common cold or flu. You can be in the presence of someone who is extremely negative and breathe in their crap. Nice, eh?
Creative Visualization & Energy Maintenance
1. Visualize yourself in a glass dome. If you’d like other people to “see” you, make it clear. If not, just create a colored dome or post signs that say “private” or “do not enter” on it.
2. Sending a “spiritual email” of love and healing energy to a situation and/or person.
3. Imagine yourself as a doctor or nurse, pumping their veins with a positive emotion such as joy, feeling loved, calmness or just positive energy in general. You may also envision yourself stitching them up. (Thanks to Cyndall)
4. Place a person or situation into a visual compartment like a sealed box and ship them back to their own energy field.
5. Visualize your spiritual home and place signs or a schedule when you allow visitors.
